

NIZWA: The Municipal Council of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate held at the governor’s office, on Tuesday.
The meeting discussed several topics including developing municipal services and investments in the governorate.
The Municipal Council, under the chairmanship of Shaikh Hilal bin Said al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah, reviewed the report of the director-general of health services in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate concerning the shortage of medical staff at hospitals and health services and the opening date of the two dialysis centres in the wilayats of Bahla and Adam.
The council also reviewed the minutes, reports, proposals of the committees and the responses received from some government departments on several issues including the proposal of the Governorate Development Committee to hold a competition for municipal work in the wilayats with the aim of activating community partnership between various groups and segments of society, investing energies and unifying capabilities for the development of the wilayats.
Besides, the Municipal Council discussed a proposal to for the improvement and beautification of bridges, streets and public squares and reviewed the minutes of the meeting of the Health and Environmental Affairs Committee and discussed the recommendations contained therein which include encouraging the wilayats of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate to participate in the competition of the National Committee for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances with the aim of raising public awareness and community and media roles. — ONA
