SALALAH/AL RUSTAQ/NIZWA: Members of the Municipal Council of Dhofar Governorate took the oath of office in implementation of Article 14 of the Municipal Councils Law promulgated by Royal Decree No 126/2020 and its amendments. The ceremony was presided over by HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, Chairman of Dhofar Municipal Council.
HH Sayyid Turki welcomed the new members, wishing them success in promoting the march of the council through the third term. He hoped that the council will foster partnership in serving society and consolidating the development march in line with the Royal vision of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
During the meeting, a deputy chairman was elected electronically by the members, who used “Tanmia” app. They also formed the council’s standing committees.
IN SOUTH AL BATINAH
Members of the Municipal Council in the Governorate of South Al Batinah on Tuesday took the oath of office before Shaikh Saif bin Hamyer al Shuhi, Governor of South Al Batinah, Chairman of the Council.
During the Council’s first meeting of Municipal Councils’ Third Term, the members elected Saud bin Said al Ma’awali as Deputy Chairman of the Council. The election was conducted electronically through the use of “Tanmia” app.
The meeting also saw the formation of standing committees, which were the Legal Affairs Committee, the Social Affairs Committee, the Governorate’s Development Committee and the Health and Environmental Affairs Committee.
IN AL DAKHILIYAH
Members of the Municipal Council of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate also took the oath of office in implementation of Article 14 of the Municipal Councils Law.
The ceremony was presided over by Shaikh Hilal bin Said al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah, Chairman of Al Dakhiliyah Municipal Council.
During the meeting, a deputy chairman was elected electronically by the members using “Tanmia” app, which was recently launched by the Ministry of Interior. They also formed the council’s standing committees. -- ONA
