Made from a combination of rice, lentils, macaroni, and chickpeas, Koshari is a delicious, satisfying meal that is both vegetarian and budget-friendly. The recipe for Koshari is relatively simple. Ingredients:


1 cup of rice


1 cup of lentils


1 cup of macaroni


1 cup of chickpeas


1 onion, finely chopped


2 cloves of garlic, minced


2 tablespoons of olive oil


1 tablespoon of cumin

Hot sauce to taste (optional)


Directions:


Cook the rice, lentils, macaroni, and chickpeas separately, according to their individual instructions.


In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until the onion is translucent.


Add the cumin, salt, and pepper to the skillet and stir well.


Add the cooked rice, lentils, macaroni, and chickpeas to the skillet and stir until they are well combined.
