More than 150 entrepreneurs to take part in Souq Al Wathbah

MUSCAT: The SMEs Development Authority and Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, have teamed up to organise Souq Al Wathbah for this year at the Bank Muscat head office at Airport Heights. The Souq will be held for three days, from Thursday, April 6 to Saturday, April 8.


This annual CSR initiative aims at providing a supportive avenue for home-based projects and entrepreneurs, give them the opportunity to display their different products and expand their relationships through networking with other entrepreneurs to exchange expertise for the sake of business development.


More than 150 entrepreneurs, small and start-up businesses will participate in this year’s edition of Souq Al Wathbah, where various products encompassing fashion, health and beauty products, home decorations and accessories, food and beverages, traditional wares and perfumes will be showcased at competitive prices. The three-day Souq will be open from 8 pm to 12 midnight.


Since its first launch, the Ramadhan Souq constitutes one of the key steps to support small and start-up businesses and is one of the most important forums for entrepreneurs. It also comes within the strategies of both the SMEs Development Authority and Bank Muscat to support Omani entrepreneurs and SMEs and startups. The Ramadhan Souq is expected to witness excellent participation from the public and the media, especially as it is one of the well-known souqs held during the month of Ramadhan.


Bank Muscat is committed to implementing its strategic plans to support SMEs. For this particular purpose, it has launched many other initiatives including Al Wathbah Academy, Al Wathbah Businesswomen’s Forum etc. Al Wathbah SME department offers a comprehensive suite of tailor-made finance solutions and non-financial services targeted at small and medium enterprise in the areas of education, coaching, networking opportunities and workshops. Bank Muscat is continuously partnering with both government agencies and the private sector to promote entrepreneurship in Oman, particularly amongst the youth, as part of its focus on supporting the strategic goals of Oman Vision 2040.
