Muscat: As part of the efforts to streamline the process of conducting commercial activities and to improve the competitiveness of the Sultanate of Oman in the ease of doing business index, the authority responsible for issuing permits for commercial signboards will be the Ministry of Commerce and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP) via Invest Easy platform.
The decision comes into effect from Tuesday, April 4, 2023, and will only apply to new branches.
Earlier the permit for commercial signboards was issued by the local municipalities.
The service fee will be RO15 once at the time of registration and there is no need to renew the permit.
