Ahli Sidab take home victory against Salalah

Ahli Sidab Club secured a resounding victory against Salalah Club with a score of 75-31, in the 13th edition of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth Basketball Shield 2022-23. The first group match was held at the indoor courts of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher on Monday night.


The technical staff and players of Ahli Sidab executed an impressive performance, leading the match from the start and securing victory in all four periods. The team showcased exceptional talent with standout performances from Arial, Hameer al Hasani, Khalid al Hashmi and Abdulreza al Battashi.


The first quarter saw Ahli Sadab start the game by scoring 5 points through Himyar al Hasani, while Salalah were able to bring the result closer with a basket of two points through Faisal Nayef. Then Ahli Sidab responded by scoring 6 points through professional Ariel. The attempts of the two teams continued with several attacks, during which each team added a number of points, to end the first quarter with Ahli Sidab’s progress over Salalah with a score of 19-8.


In the second quarter, Ahli Sidab players continued their superiority by executing a number of attacks through which they succeeded in scoring and adding 18 points, while Salalah managed to add 9 points. The first-half ended with Ahli Sidab ahead of Salalah with a score of 37-17.


In the third quarter, Salalah struggled to improve their defensive and offensive level, as a result of pressure from Ahli Sidab, who added 14 points, while Salalah scored 11 points. The third quarter ended with Ahli Sidab leading Salalah 51-28. The final quarter saw Ahli Sidab dominate with an impressive score of 24 points, while Salalah scored only 9 points. The match ended with the victory of Ahli Sidab over Salalah by 75-31.


The match was moderated by Rashid al Mashaifri as the first referee, Mazin al Hilali as the second referee, and Wafaa al Samriya as the third referee. The table officials were Maryam al Zadjali, Mahmoud al Ajmi, and Sharifa al Zadjali.
