Saham Ayurveda Hospital opens new branch in Muscat

Muscat: Saham Ayurveda Hospital & Health Center LLC, the first fully fledged IP (In Patient) Ayurvedic Hospital in the country, opened its branch in Sarooj, Qurum on Thursday under the auspices of Dr Muhanna Nasser al Maslahi, Director General of Private Health Institutions, MoH along with many ministerial representatives as well as other key people from both private and public sectors.


Located at way number 1309 in Al Sarooj, the one of its kind Center will be providing all Integrated ayurvedic health and wellness treatments in three floors, the promoters claimed.


Led by an outstanding in-house medical team, and in a liaison with India’s acclaimed name in ayurveda, “Vaidyaratnam”, a range of comprehensive authentic Ayurvedic treatments from the various departments of Ayurveda, a plethora of services from the Panchakarma are offered by the Centre which is equipped with multi-disciplinary physiotherapy and rehab equipment. Also in recent developments, a dealership agreement was signed with the ayurvedic pioneers Vaidyaratnam to make their products available in Oman.


“Apart from various wellness services with Yoga, Physical medicine and Rehabilitation, we are also offering Physiotherapy and designing Speech therapy aids and an integrated customised treatment for the patients from the center,” said Chandrahasan Menon, Hospital Director of the Center.


Parallel and alternative medicinal branches like Saham Ayurvedic center can support Oman tourism for the center can be the attraction for people seeking both health and wellness treatments in Ayurveda, according to Dr Muhanna Nasser al Maslahi.


“It is a great move to offer ayurvedic treatment services for Muscat residents but on the other hand, it can also attract many health and wellness service seekers to Oman from across the region and beyond as visiting Oman for medical services is a better option for many reasons for those who are from the Middle East and Africa region,” Dr Musalhi added.


According to available statistics, more than almost 2 million patients visit India from Middle East and Africa every year and it is a major revenue generator for the country. Saham Ayurveda Hospital & Health Center is in an attempt to offer the same services at their doorsteps in Oman.


The first such center in the country, in Saham near Sohar, was opened to the public 18 months ago offering all ayurvedic services in 68 rooms spread across 50,000 sqft vast hospital, catering to all GCC nationals and both citizens and residents of Oman.


Due to the high demand the hospital management are into their expansion programme to facilitate more to the patients needs and a new team of professionals within the management team including Mr. Asish Menon, as business development manager, who has served more than 7 years in a leading firm in Oman, looks after the areas of business development, Marketing strategies and coordinate with the Hospital Director for more areas to capture in health care.


“It is my 43rd year in the Sultanate and I have always felt the need in integrated Ayurveda in Oman,” says Menon.
