Activities of Cultural Week in Nizwa ends

NIZWA: The Nizwa Cultural Center held a closing ceremony of the Cultural Week's activities, titled "Towards Sustainable Cultural Development," under the auspices of Sayyid Said bin Sultan al Busaidy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture.


Several governmental and private agencies, libraries, and civil cultural centres participated in the Cultural Week.


Shikhan bin Rashid al Abri, Assistant Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Youth in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, presented the centre's speech saying: "The days of this Cultural Week contains fun, entertainment, education, awareness, development of skills, exchange of ideas, innovation, creativity, and cooperation. It all confirms the goal of sustainable cultural Development. It contained 15 programmes including workshops in different fields, educational lectures, development programmes, competitions, open days and other activities."



The activities and programmes of the Cultural Week formed a cultural atmosphere in which various segments of society and institutions from the Dakhiliyah Governorate participated.


Ifrah bint Nasser al Ishaqi, a participant in the Cultural Week, said: "During this Cultural Week, we learned how to paint and make beautiful designs on pottery pots by adding touches of colour and some aesthetics and create new art inspired by the Omani identity."


The closing ceremony included honouring the participants in the cultural programmes. It also had an accompanying exhibition.


Nizwa Cultural Center works on the continuity of implementing various cultural programmes that contribute to the Development of youth skills and the promotion of cultural Development.
