SUHAR: The activities of the unified Gulf Week to promote oral and dental health in North Al Batinah Governorate concluded on Friday.
The activities were held for two days, at the Oasis Mall in Suhar, and was organised by the Directorate-General of Health Services and organised by the Primary Health Care Support Department.
The oral and dental services this year were held under the slogan 'My health starts from my mouth', which is determined annually by the Gulf Health Council. This includes a variety of items, including an accompanying health exhibition, dental examinations, health cultural competitions, consultations, sessions and workshops, and other activities that target all segments of society.
The Gulf Health Council approved unifying messages and topics for this year, including the importance of visiting the dentist, dental care, awareness of dental injuries, awareness of oral cancers, as well as focusing on emerging modern practices that negatively affect oral and dental health.
It is worth noting that the Gulf Week for Promoting Oral and Dental Health is celebrated annually in the last week of March each year in all countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC and the Republic of Yemen) since 2010, after it was approved by the Executive Board of the Council at its 72nd meeting in Riyadh. - ONA
