SUHAR: The second edition of the Rural and Coastal Women Forum began on Wednesday under the auspices of Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah al Busaidy, Wali of Suhar.
The forum is organized by the Directorate-General of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources in North Al Batinah Governorate.
Engineer Khalda bint Mohammed al Shizawiyah, head of the Department of Rural Development in North Al Batinah Governorate, affirmed the ministry’s attention to the development of rural women.
She added that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources implemented 14 projects supportive of rural women in North Al Batinah Governorate from which 500 women are getting benefits.
Those projects cover the fields of honey bee breeding, greenhouse farming, barn rehabilitation, modern farming technologies and developing rural women’s products.
In 2022, the Department of Rural Development in the governorate conducted 34 exhibitions for marketing and promoting rural womens’ products, 69 training workshops, and 42 field, She added. — ONA
