The majority of us adults have come to the understanding that in order to excel in areas of our lives other aspects will automatically be jeopardised.
When we have lived with the belief that hard work gets us results whereby, we cannot be a ‘business person’ and a ‘family person’ at the same time, we automatically short change ourselves into denying our truth.
However, we can generate great advantage from up-levelling the areas of our lives to make us into all-rounded, grounded human beings. This can be monumental and instrumental to long lasting, enhanced change.
We need to alter our mindset and enrich our perspectives, so as to generate the lives we deserve and desire. Consider that not all levels need to be above average.
Prioritise the areas you deem necessary to gain a more joie de vivre.
Out of the twelve categories listed, choose three you would like to improve.
Write a list of your current status and where you would like to be a year from now. Dream big and realistic. What’s the biggest problem holding you back? What are the possible solutions to solving this issue?
With this clarity and vision, make a strategic, specific action plan with timeline and deadlines until next year. Make small daily steps on improving those areas through routine, repetition and the right attitude.
Here are the 12 categories:
Partners and love, Family, Friends and social life, Work, business and career, Money and finances, Fitness and health, Surroundings, environment and quality of life, Fun and recreation, Emotional well-being, Personal growth and learning, Contribution and Spirituality.
Assessing your life with all these different areas will allow you to gain a much better bird’s-eye perspective on the parts which need improvement.
Consider your health, career, finances and relationships. Where are you currently thriving and which areas can benefit from more effort?
Are you feeling lively but struggle to make real connections with people? Are you on the right path to achieving financial freedom, but you’re in a job that hardly fuels your fulfilment?
Do you feel your life is one tracked and you don’t spend enough time with the family? What parts of your life have you ignored and what parts have you focused your full attention on?
We can definitely have it all. One area does not have to fall off the wayside in order to enhance another.
Tony Robbins articulated that ‘too many people are caught up with making a living, yet not designing their life.’ In order to design the life we want, we need to first have the awareness of where we currently stand. Thereafter, the foresight gained from the compass of growth and enhancement will lead the way.
The momentum brought about through constant and consistent daily effort and action will reap all the benefits needed in order to know you are becoming the best version of yourself. What more can you ask for?
