Muscat: The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA) will carry out an automatic E-sorting on Sunday to determine who will be eligible to perform Hajj from the quota allocated to the Sultanate for the season 1444H.

Those eligible will have five days to complete the contract through the electronic system with Hajj companies.

With the closing of registration on March 5, the total number of requests for Hajj submitted online is 33,536, including 29,930 Omanis, and 3,606 expatriates.

Most applications were from the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah, North al Batinah, and Muscat.

A total of 14,000 pilgrims have been allocated to the Sultanate of Oman for the 2023 season, of which 13,098 are for Omanis, 500 for residents, and 402 are for official missions.

MERA has opened the electronic system for approved Hajj companies to update their data and enter the services booklet data to register for the Hajj season 1444 AH. Saturday is the deadline.
