Al Dakhiliyah holds dialogue session on youth

NIZWA: The youth dialogue session for 2023 was held at the Nizwa Cultural Centre last week in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate under the slogan 'youth at the core of our interest.'


The dialogue session was held as part of Al Dakhiliyah Festival 2023 in the presence of Shaikh Hilal bin Said bin Hamdan al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah, Engineer Ibrahim bin Said al Kharousi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Heritage, Shaikh Rashid bin Ahmed al Shamsi Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development, and other dignitaries.


The dialogue session dealt with four themes, namely heritage and tourism, innovation and technology, community partnership, and discussion of the previous dialogue sessions held in 2022.


The themes were derived from those of Oman Vision 2040. The session was moderated by media person Ahmed bin Salim al Kindi, with the participation of residents of Al Dakhiliyah and participants in the work of the preparatory laboratory.


At the beginning of the session, Eng Ibrahim bin Said al Kharousi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Heritage, spoke about heritage in Al Dakhiliyah, economic diversification in heritage tourism, contents of cultural heritage and the empowerment of families in heritage field.


During the session, they discussed the outputs of the preparatory laboratory held in February last at Nizwa Cultural Centre for two weeks. About 130 people from the governorate participated in the laboratory. The percentage of participation from the government and private sectors reached 30 per cent and 70 per cent from civil and local social institutions, which included charitable teams, civil companies, associations, job seekers, students, and owners of medium and minor investment projects.


The version of the youth dialogue session for 2023, followed three phases represented in defining the scope of work through a questionnaire launched to investigate the community's opinion.


They identified the challenges, put forward suitable solutions, recommendations, investment ideas and enabling initiatives, and access to best practices.


The session concluded with a review and discussion of the recommendations of the previous dialogue session for 2022 and the measures taken by the concerned authorities in this regard.


The dialogue session concluded with several reliable recommendations that contribute to developing various future development plans for the governorate.


The Governor of Al Dakhiliyah confirmed that the inquiries received were of matter of interest to the specialists and directed them to take actions in this regard.
