Muscat: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) has welcomed the meeting of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik with business owners and a number of owners of small and medium enterprises.


Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman, of OCCI, said expressed his thanks and gratitude for His Majesty the Sultan’s praise of the role of OCCI as the main engine for the private sector. private, especially since the new system of the chamber enables it to submit its views and proposals to the competent authorities, and conduct research and studies aimed at empowering the private sector.

Al Rawas said the meeting reflected His Majesty Sultan's interest in the private sector and his keenness to overcome all challenges and obstacles that impede its development and growth.


His Excellency added: "What was included in the meeting touches on the essence of empowering the private sector, and anticipates the future of this stage, which requires more work to advance the economic system.


His Excellency the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry continued that the directives of His Majesty the Sultan regarding strengthening the role of the private sector reflects His Majesty’s vision on the importance of this sector in the economic development of the country and the great importance that this poses in the next stage in accordance with the objectives of the Oman Vision. 2040 AD; Aiming to enable him to contribute to the development with high efficiency.


His Excellency explained that His Majesty the Sultan's reference to support the efforts made to build the private sector stems from His Majesty's aspirations of the importance of advancing this sector, and working, by all means, to build it in order to keep pace with future developments and global changes.
