Muscat: Activities of the Governorates Marathon in its first edition will kick off on Friday.
The marathon is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in partnership with Oman Broadband Company, Sabco Sport Group and Aspire Zone of Qatar.
The marathon includes a series of running events with high and international standards. It will be held in various governorates in the Sultanate of Oman.
The marathon provides a platform for runners of all ages to adopt a more active and healthier lifestyle. It includes 10 km, 6 km and 2 km races for all age groups.
The 1st marathon will be held in the Wilayat of Nizwa this Friday, then in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi on February 18, in the Wilayat of Suhar on February 25, in the Wilyat of Al Buraimi on March 11, in the Wilayat of Al Rustaq on March 18, in the Wilayat of Salalah on August 5, in the Wilayat of Ibri on October 21, in the Wilayat of Sur on November 4, in the Wilayat of Duqm on November 17 and in the Wilayat of Khasab on December 30.
