A steady stream of visitors was seen at all four venues of the Muscat Nights on Sunday. Known earlier as Muscat Festival, the footfall at the Muscat Nights has witnessed an increasing trend on the third day since its opening.
Complemented by the cold weather and a pleasant breeze, Qurum Natural Park, Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, Oman Automobile Association ground, and Naseem Gardens have seen people from across the world. The events are aimed for visitors of all ages every day from 4 pm until 11 pm.
Past two days, families and other visitors were seen interacting with the artistes who performed at the festival venues.
Ahmed bin Mohammed al Hamidi, Chairman of the Muscat Municipality, and Head of the Muscat Nights, presided over the conclusion of the competitions of the second round of the 5th edition of the Oman International Drift Championship, which was held at the Muscat Drift Circuit at the Omani Automobile Association.
“The activities are designed to meet the aspirations of the public and serve the various groups of society and visitors, and I want it to be a space for entertainment and cultural communication, as it is the largest entertainment and community event in the country,” Al Hameed said.
The Muscat Nights activities cover dazzling entertainment activities, with programmes covering cultural, entertainment, family, sports, artistic competitions, and activities inspired by the taste of the community. The activities of Muscat Nights also highlight the depth of originality and the cultural potential of the Sultanate of Oman, interest in small and medium enterprises, intellectual and economic social fields, and specialised events.
Although entry is charged a nominal amount of 100 Baizas, there will be specific fees for entering the specialised events being held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center and the Omani Automobile Association.

Laser and dazzling shows
Al Qurum Natural Park includes a number of activities that focus on the vicinity of the lake, including boat shows, helium shows with yacht decor and, artistic shows using dazzling lasers, light water shows; and these shows will be held at several intervals and repeated in the evening with artistic formations flying over the sky above the park.
A park with a cinema hall with a screen is set for the public and equipped restrooms, as well as a full 360-degree filming event, arena and carnival shows, horse shows and show jumping competitions, human boats with LD lighting technology, waterfalls lighting shows, and children’s games.
Theatre performances
There are a variety of artistic performances being held at the Qurum Natural Park, and a juggling segment with “Fred Sharp”, in addition to wave shows, fire shows and other light shows, are events that one shouldn’t miss out.
