Agents from the League for the Protection of Birds (LPO) release a female Bonelli's eagle in Arboras, in the Herault department in southern France, on Thursday. This adult female was found at the end of September, wounded by 7 shotgun pellets which caused severe inflammation on the joint of the wing, preventing her from flying. It took more than three months of care by LPO agents and the re-education of the bird to fly before releasing her. This species is classified as critically endangered in the Occitanie region and in the PACA region with only 44 couples in France and 8 in Herault. -- AFP
