A competition to design a logo for the 27th Edition of Muscat International Book Fair, which will be held from February 22 to March 4, the Main Committee Responsible for MIBF announced on Monday. The winner will get a reward of RO 1,000.

As per the conditions and specifications for the competition, the design's content should reflect the Sultanate of Oman's civilisational role, cultural depth and love of reading.

The design should be unique, modern, non-traditional, and not quoted or similar to any other design known locally or internationally. The logo should have four colours.

A brief explanation of the idea of the theme, including the meanings of the symbol, should accompany the design.

The slogan should be phrased in Arabic and English, and the design should be of high quality.

The competition is open to all specialised companies and residents - an individual or a single company is entitled to participate with a maximum of two entries.

The last date for receiving the designs from the participants is January 22.

Owners of designs have the right to retrieve their designs from the book fair administration within two months from the date of announcing the results.

The event will include a diverse range of cultural programmes appealing to the tastes of avid readers across different categories, including academic, cultural, literary and scientific.
