Being genuine to who you are at the core and abiding by your “gut feeling” is living your truth. The main responsibility of your intuition and inner wisdom are to guide you along the path of happiness and contentment.


When we acknowledge our inner power which flourishes from the innate part of our being that merely wants the best for us, this will simultaneously direct our minds to attract experiences to connect authentically with.


Living from an authentic place is when you are truly living life in veritable connection to your essence, accompanied with all your values, your purpose, priorities and needs. It means living in congruence, in harmony and in alignment. From this place, your energy is so much more inclined to pursue positive outcomes.


In order to connect more to your authentic self, here are some tips to work on daily:


1. Journaling: It doesn’t have to be written linearly, simply get your thoughts on paper. Allow a stream of consciousness to flow. Recording voice notes is another great way to get in touch with your sentiments and feelings.


2. Solo time: Spend time meditating, in nature and being in solitude. Replenish your self-care energy with the self-love activities that bring you joy. Delve deep into a hobby, be creative and adventurous. Connect more to your passions. Pay attention to your physical body and mental well-being.


3. Values work: Understanding your values is vital to your happiness. Knowing what they are will aid you to constantly and consistently move in the right direction towards your goals and dreams. Your values are what drive you.


4. Ignore the “should’s” and focus on the “can’s”. Say “no” more to others and “yes” more to yourself. Move away from trying to please everyone, focus on pleasing yourself and those who bring joy to your life.


5. Explore your purpose: Make intentional time to ponder on the meaning of Your life and what true happiness means to you, minus all the distractions and temptations.


6. Mindfulness: Focus on your internal state, your thoughts, feelings and emotions. Get good at mastering your breath so as to move out of your head and connect to your body more. This will bring you more cognizance of your overall well-being.


When we live life authentically, this means having a keen awareness of who we are and what we stand for. Being true to who we are on the inside and expressing it on the outside takes courage and compassion. With kindness and patience we can all manage to climb the levels required in order to shine authentically, from a grounded place of utmost self-worth, self-assuredness and self-respect.


True authenticity will illuminate the path forward to derive the life you want. The clarity gained will allow you to make more informed and well-versed decisions that will further align with your identity and core values. From here on forth, the unshakable foundation you construct will undoubtedly bring more meaning and joy to your life.
