RAFO marks Sultan’s Armed Forces Day

Muscat: The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) on Tuesday celebrated the Sultan's Armed Forces Day (SAF Day), which falls on December 11. The ceremony was held at Al Seeb Airbase under the auspices of Dr Khalfan Said al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning.

The ceremony began with a military salute to the minister. Then, the RAFO band played the Royal Anthem, followed by an infantry parade. Then, the band performed a musical presentation that comprised various pieces.

The minister and guests watched a parachute show presented live in the sky of the celebration by RAFO free fall team. After that, a number of combat aircrafts performed an air show over the celebration grounds to celebrate the day of the Sultan's Armed Forces.

The event was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces, commanders of the SAF wings, military and security units, as well as retired commanders, government officials, senior officers, RAFO members, officers, non-commissioned officers and cadets.
