Muscat: Bahla registered their third consecutive win in the 2022-23 Omantel League as they defeated Al Ittihad 2-0 in the 11th week of the league on Tuesday at Nizwa Sports Complex.
After a goalless draw in the first half, Bahla players entered the following half with better focus as Fahad al Abdul Salam managed to put his team ahead in the 74th minute. Waleed al Musallami doubled the score in the dying minutes to make the result at 2-0. The triumph put Al Dakhiliyah representative team to fourth place with 18 points while Salalah-based team are in danger zone at 12th place with six points.
Al Suwaiq returned to the winning ways after a 1-0 win over neighbours Al Musannah at Al Rustaq Sports Complex on Tuesday.
Abdul Rahman al Mushefri scored all important goals in the match in the 38th minute to deliver a crucial three points to his team. The victory took Northern Batinah team to the third place with 20 points.
Last week, Al Suwaiq had suffered a 1-0 defeat against Oman Club.
The 11th week matches will be resumed on Wednesday and Thursday as Al Bashaer will host Sur at Nizwa Sports Complex while Oman Club will travel to Salalah to meet Al Nasr at Al Saada Stadium on the same day. On Thursday, Al Oruba will take on Sohar at the former's home in Sur Sports Complex while Al Rustaq Sports Complex venue will host Al Rustaq and Dhofar encounter.
