Oman issues new rules for work permit of engineers

Muscat: The Ministry of Labor has issued a notice to all establishments working in the field of construction, of the need to start implementing the professional accreditation system for all job titles included in the profession of engineer.

“Please instruct all working engineers or those to be appointed to apply to the Oman Society of Engineers to classify them and obtain or renew a work permit from the Ministry, noting that professional accreditation will be a prerequisite for issuing and renewing work permits as of February 1.”
