Members of the Acers & Pacers Running Club who participated in the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon 2022, which was held on November 11 and 12, were feted at an event held in Muscat.
Titled, ‘Relishing Runs – Celebrating Muscat Marathon’, all members of the running club who made a huge mark at the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon 2022 with 9 of its members participating in the Full Marathon (42.2 km), 26 in the Half-Marathon (21.1 km), 29 participants in the 10 km category and 14 in the 5 km category were lauded for their enthusiasm and endurance.
The Acers & Pacers Running Club, formed in August 2018 by Radhakrishnan R who is a 110-km Ultra-Marathoner, envisions to enhance the health and fitness of its members by giving effective coaching in proper walking and running. It’s a non-profit group of passionate runners who aim to promote the culture of running in Muscat. From a humble beginning with just 10 members, Acers & Pacers’ membership has grown exponentially and today close to 150 members enjoy the walks, jogs and runs, helping them maintain a healthy body.
The felicitation event that aimed at marking the successful participation in the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon 2022 was also a venue that aimed to honour, appreciate and inspire the members. It was a fun-filled evening with a sports theme-based fashion show, dance, music, spot prizes and games followed by dinner. Close to 100 people, including the runners and their family members, were in attendance.
The Acers & Pacers provide exclusive training sessions to the members over the weekdays like interval trainings on Mondays and Tuesdays, strength trainings on Wednesdays, long runs or trail runs on Friday mornings and Friday friendly family runs at Qurum Park on every Friday evenings.
