MUSCAT: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, held the third annual meeting with ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the Sultanate of Oman.


Sayyid Badr highlighted Oman’s pillars of foreign policy and touched on regional and international developments and Oman’s efforts in enhancing the investment milieu and economic diversification.


He also explored climate issues and underscored Oman’s efforts in achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. He pointed out that Oman welcomes cooperation and partnership with Arab and friendly countries in this field.


The Foreign Minister congratulated Qatar for hosting World Cup 2022 and congratulated the UAE on being selected to host the Conference of the Parties (COP28) in 2023.


Sayyid Badr exchanged views with the ambassadors on cooperation between the Foreign Ministry and diplomatic missions and lauded the efforts of the ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps to consolidate ties of cooperation between their respective countries and Oman.


The meeting was attended by Mohammed bin Nasser al Wahaibi, Under-Secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Administrative and Financial Affairs. -- ONA
