Salalah: The fourth leg of Oman Sailing Festival 2022, held at Dahariz Beach in Wilayat of Salalah, concluded on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Held over five days, it offered free sessions to try sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing.
A number of local SMEs and craftspeople showcased their wares as well. Local businessman Mohammed al Ibrahim, who has invested in the Dahariz beachfront, said he had opened up his premises for local families to display their merchandise and offer their services.
The Festival returns on November 24-26 to the Barceló Mussanah Resort offering Try Sailing, Try Windsurfing, Try Kitesurfing, a showcase of local SMEs and a beach clean-up. The event coincides with the RS Venture Connect World Championships, Oman’s first exclusively-para sailing event, and will also feature the chance to learn how to sail using the versatile RS Venture boat designed for people with disabilities.
In Salalah, the festival was supported by Office of the Governor of Dhofar Directorate General of Heritage and Tourism in Dhofar, Beach Front, Oman Air, National Mineral Water Company (Tanuf), Environment society of Oman (ESO), and National University Science and Technology (International Maritime College).
