Muscat: The Minister of Health (MOH) has amended some provisions of the regulations related to the transfer and transplantation of human organs and tissues.

The new decision states that on matters related to the transplantation of organs and tissues, the report confirming the proof of the death of the person will be determined by two physicians with a rank of no less than a consultant and they must be experts in neurology, anesthesia, or intensive care.

They shall be not a member of the team formed to follow up the process of transferring organs and human tissues from the dead.

The decision will come into effect a day after it is published in the official gazette.
