In a new development, Qatar will allow World Cup fans to visit the country from December 2, even without tickets.

As per the existing rules, only those without tickets could enter Qatar unless they were travelling with a Hayya card, which allows three non-ticketed fans for $140 (RO70).

The new rules will encourage Fifa fans to experience the World Cup experience even if they do wish to watch matches in the stadium.

“Fans without tickets can enter the State of Qatar after the conclusion of the Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 Group Stage - starting from December 2, 2022,” the official statement said.

The Sultanate of Oman is also actively inviting World Cup fans as it is one of the major and approved cities to receive World Cup fans.

Visitors holding the Hayya card can apply for a visa online or on arrival at land or airports and avail of the shuttle flights operated by the national airline, Oman Air, during the match days.

World Cup fans (Hayya cardholders) can enter the Sultanate of Oman with a free multiple-entry visa (valid for up to 60 days). The Hayya cardholder can avail of this facility for family members and will be allowed to change the visa to another category during his stay in the Sultanate of Oman in accordance with certain conditions.

Oman Airports said there would be dedicated departure and arrival gates, baggage conveyors, check-in counters fans, and a customer service team in place to guide passengers through custom routes. Arrangements have also been made for fans to and from the airport via special bus stops for buses.

Ticket fares for shuttle flights have been reduced from the prices earlier announced by the airline.
