Ibri crowned U-18 TT champions

Muscat: Ibri Club won the title of the Under-18 Youth Table Tennis Championship 2022 after surpassing Seeb Club 3-1 in the final match at the main hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.


In the individual level competitions, Ahmed al Riyami from Seeb succeeded in winning the championship in the singles category, after he succeeded in overcoming Mohammed al Mutawa from Saham Club 3-0 in an exciting match. Badr al Jasasi from Ibri Club came in third place after he beat Luqman al Farsi from Ibri Club in the play-off match to determine the third and fourth places.


Ibri, Saham and Masirah clubs were able to reach the semifinal stage of the team competition category, after they came in the top four places in the group.


Ibri were able to eliminate Saham, while Seeb beat Masirah.

In the match to determine the third and fourth places, Saham Club managed to win the third place after defeating Masirah Club, while Ibri Club won the title after its important victory over Seeb Club.


At the individual level of the quarter competitions, Ahmed al Riyami won the championship after he started in the round of 16 by defeating Mohammad al Jassasi from the Ibri Club. Al Riyami beat Munther al Ghassani from Seeb Club in the semifinal and won the crown after overcoming Luqman al Farsi from Ibri Club in the final.


At the end of the final match, Abdullah bin Mohammad Bamakhalaf, Chairman of Oman Table Tennis Association, and Mohammed bin Humaid al Jassasi, member of the board of directors, honoured the clubs that won the top three places.


Ibri players received the gold medals, Seeb got silver medals and Saham players earned the bronze medals.
