Community training programmes announced

Muscat: As a mark of institution’s engagement with the community, University of Technology and Applied Sciences - Salalah has launched Community Training Programmes for the Academic Year of 2022-2023. The programme started on October 25, 2022. “UTAS-Salalah seeks to strengthen its relationship and engagement with the society, community, industry and other external stakeholders and contribute to their advancement through the provision of training programmes and courses in the fields of information technology, engineering, administration, management, education and social studies,” said a source related with the programme.


The programmes are open to the public. They aim to contribute to the development of the members of the community and to reach a wider audience. These courses and programmes are available in online mode.


Since the inception of the UTAS-Salalah’s Community Training Programmes in March 2021, the university has conducted 87 training programmes and general courses to the public and a total of 2,300 registrations made from the public and other stakeholders.


Commenting on the programme, Dr Mohammed bin Rashid al Maamari, Dean, said, “As a higher education institution, we at UTAS-Salalah have a commitment to be a responsible and ethical participant in the local and national community. We will continue to be an engaged institution which believes in strengthening our community roles and social responsibilities beyond our core objectives and vision.”
