Muscat: Dr Said Hamad al Rubaie, Chairman of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS), received Dr David Templeman, Minister for Culture and the Arts; Sport and Recreation; International Education and Heritage of the Government of Western Australia, and his accompanying delegation.

The two sides explored areas of cooperation in academic exchange, mutual student visits between universities in Western Australia and UTAS and the mechanism of exchanging expertise in technical education.

The two parties agreed to activate several initiatives in the fields of education, research, consultations, student exchange and the mutual teaching of some courses.

UTAS partnered with Edith Cowan University by mutually teaching a course (online) on renewable and alternative energy.

Meanwhile, work is underway to offer more courses through the same mechanism by cooperating with other Australian universities.
