MUSCAT: Vanderlande beat Ideal International by 6 wickets to claim their first win in a B division match of the Oman Cricket League 2022-23 on Friday.
Putting Ideal International to bat first, Vanderlande had the top hand claiming 6 wickets in the half-way mark of 15 overs of Ideal’s batting.
Llewelyn Korada’s 57 along with Abdul Ghani’s 33 took Ideal’s innings to 139 all out in 26 overs. Aiyyapan B and Aasim Mohd claimed 4 and 3 wickets each.
In reply, Asfak Ahmed’s quick fire 51 of 25 balls and a couple of 30 plus scores from Reddy Prasath and Vinayangam B saw Vanderlande chase the target in 14.3 overs.
In another B division match on Friday, Bank Muscat edged past Manis CT by 4 wickets. Put to bat first, Manis CT scored 207 runs in 29.1 overs. Mohammad Saleem and Adnan Ul Haq’s 39 each was the key among the runs. Deepak K, Benny Mathew, Mohammad Umar and Zubair al Balushi claimed 2 wickets each for Bank Muscat. Chasing 207, opener Amir Mehmood’s 55 off 44 balls and Ali Raza’s 63 off 59 balls sealed the game for Bank Muscat convincingly.
In a D division match on Friday, OCT Mabela beat RSTS FCC by 13 runs.
Electing to Bat first , OCT Mabela’s opener Asif al Balushi scored a quick-fire 48 off 34 balls with cordial support from Shareef al Balushi (53 off 49 balls) taking their total to 169 in 20 overs.
Anzil N and Imtiaz KA pulled back OCT Mabela to go on to a big total claiming 3 and 2 wickets each. OCT Mabela kept taking regular wickets to restrict RSTS FCC to reach the target. Issam al Balushi claimed 4 wickets in his spell to ensure OCT Mabela's win.
Ideal International 139 all out in 26 overs (Llewelyn Korada 57 (68) 6x4; Aiyyapan B 4-17) lost to Vanderlande 143-4 in 14.3 overs (Asfak Ahmed 51 (25) 8x4,2x6; Llewelyn Korada 4-31) by 6 wickets.
Manis CT 207 all out in 29.1 overs (Mohd Saleem 39 (30) 8x4; Zubair al Balushi 2-25) lost to Bank Muscat 209-4 in 25.5 overs (Amir Mehmood 55 (44) 9x4, Ali Raza 63 (59) 7x4) by 4 wickets.
OCT Mabela 169-8 in 20 overs (Asif al Balushi 48 (34) 5x4, Sharif al Balushi 53 (49) 5x4; Anzil N 3-35) beat RSTC FCC 156-9 (Puladith Omidu 36 (21) 4x4; Issam al Balushi 4-29) by 13 runs.
