FDO participates in Oman Maritime Confex

Muscat - Fisheries Development Oman (FDO) is participating in Oman Maritime Confex, which opened on Monday and will continue until October 26.


Oman Maritime Confex aims at enhancing Oman as a global destination in the maritime industry, raising its prominence in developing the national economy, and linking the various economic sectors related to the maritime industry.


FDO is one of the sponsors as it is responsible for investment in the fisheries sector in Oman. In addition. It has been working on the development of the commercial fishing industry and sustainable aquaculture, as per Oman Investment Authority policies.


FDO is seeking to promote its products in both local and global markets, share experiences and encourage investments in economic industries related to maritime aspects to meet “Oman Vision 2040” aiming at optimizing fishery resources, along with creating investment opportunities that promote economic development.


International experts and speakers from different entities related to the maritime industry will preview their experiences.


Among the most important aspects to be discussed in the Confex are the blue economy and sustainable growth aspect, states’ challenges in implementing blue economy strategies, and investment opportunities in blue economy sectors.


In addition, experiences of successful countries will be presented, as well as discuss strategies of economic cross-sectoral integration related to the blue economy. Discussions of challenges and opportunities facing activities related to the maritime industry and marine tourism will be held. The Confex will also be accompanied by several specialized workshops.


It is worth noting that this unique event is organized to focus on the importance of maritime resources as sustainable resources, that can contribute to the development of various economic maritime industries.
