Revenues for 3-5 star hotels grew 100%

Muscat: Revenues for three to five-star hotels in the Sultanate of Oman grew by 100.1 percent to RO120.1 million until the end of September 2022, compared to RO60 million during the same period last year.


The occupancy rate in these hotels increased to 42.7 percent, compared to 35 percent at the end of September 2021, according to statistics published by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI).


As for the number of guests in these hotels, it rose to 1.1 million at the end of September 2022, compared to 849.660 guests at the end of September 2021, with a growth rate of 31.6 percent, - dominated by citizens (528,745), followed by Europeans (203,103) and Asians nationalities (146,191).


The number of guests from the GCC in these hotels was 119,010, and other Arab nationalities were 46,562, while the number of American guests was 40.149.


On the other hand, the revenues of 3-5 star hotels decreased during the month of September to RO11.8 million, compared to RO13 million Omani riyals during August and RO11.9 million in July this year.


The number of guests received in September this year decreased to RO114,343, compared to 136,058 in August, and 127,890 in July. Apart from citizens 55,513, other hotel guests in September were Asians 18,196, Europeans 13,762, and Gulf nationals 12,639.
