MUSCAT: In recognition of its role as the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman and outstanding excellence across all operations, Bank Muscat recently won the award for Best Performing Company – Large Cap at the 12th edition of Alam Al-Iktisaad Awards. The award was handed over by the Chief Guest, His Excellency Salim bin Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, to Ahmed Faqir al Balushi, Chief Banking Officer, Bank Muscat, at the gala event. Overall, 15 top ranking MSX-listed companies were felicitated at the awards function across three categories – large cap, mid cap and small cap – based on their performance on select financial parameters. The event witnessed the congregation of a large number of important dignitaries and business leaders from Oman.

Speaking on the occasion, Ahmed Faqir al Balushi, Chief Banking Officer said: “The Bank is delighted to win this Award, which is a recognition of both recent accomplishments and also its enduring leadership over the past four decades. We would like to thank Alam Al-Iktisaad for recognising the Bank’s successful leadership and other achievements across various spheres. Going ahead, the Bank will aim to continue its market-leading position in the Sultanate’s financial services sector while also expanding its social impact through a large number of sustainability and social responsibility initiatives.” He concluded by expressing his sincere thanks and appreciation to customers for their strong confidence in Bank Muscat’s services and products.

It is a matter of great pride that as the first choice for over 2 million customers, Bank Muscat leads the financial services sector in the Sultanate of Oman with about RO 13 billion in assets, 174 branches and more than 800 touchpoints including Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) and Cash Deposit Machines (CDMs) installed across the country.

The Bank has consistently won a number of international and local awards and accolades in recognition of its leadership position in Oman. Earlier this year, the Bank was selected by Forbes Middle East as one of the Top 30 Banks in the region as well as one of the Top 100 Listed Companies in the Middle East. Bank Muscat is also a multiple award winner across its operations and has been continuously receiving awards and accolades from renowned global publications like The Banker, Global Finance, EMEA Finance, Euromoney, and Asiamoney.
