Muscat: Royal Oman Police (ROP) has denied social media reports of attempted kidnappings in the country.

As per the reports, in one case an attempt was made to kidnap a girl as she was returning home from school, while in a separate incident an attempt was made to kidnap a boy while going to the mosque with his father.

The reports added that the 'alleged kidnappers' were disguised in female dresses.

ROP said these reports are not true and urged people to take information from official sources.
