Gulf College, SMEDA ink MoU to prepare special needs people for labour market

The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) signed on Wednesday a memorandum of understanding with the Gulf College on joint cooperation to qualify persons with disabilities for the labour market.


This memorandum comes within the framework of the partnerships through which the authority seeks to empower people with disabilities by enrolling them in integrated training courses to develop their skills and equip them with best practices to deal with different business environments.


The memorandum also includes the involvement of institutions supporting persons with disabilities by listening to their needs and visions and benefiting from their ideas.


In addition to encouraging job-seekers with disabilities (motor, audio, or visual) to innovate and think strategically, and take the initiative to present ideas and initiatives necessary to integrate them into the labour market and embody their ideas into reality.


In addition, the Authority and Gulf College will work together in the implementation of joint events and exhibitions with the aim of marketing projects for participants in training courses with disabilities, and presenting their projects in the labour market.
