The hiking trails of Misfat al Abriyeen

There's more to Misfat al Abriyeen than just renovated mud houses and farms. If you're a serious hiker, then you would love the nearby hiking trails that have made one of Oman's most beautiful villages a fully-rounded destination.

In the past, Misfat al Abriyeen has already hosted several extreme adventure activities including UTMB competitions. The terrain of Misfat's mountains is ideal and possibly is one of the most challenging biking trails in the country set amidst some of the most beautiful scenes overlooking canyons and charming villages.

It was only recently that I decided to check out the hiking trails located around the Misfat Al Abriyeen village.

According to avid explorer and blogger Ali Mohammadi running the omantripper.com page, "Al Mazare (المزارع) of Misfat Al Abriyeen (مسفة العبريين) is a mountain oasis at the foothills of Jabal Shams at the Western Hajar Mountains in the Dakhiliyah region of Oman. Al Mazare is actually an oasis deep inside the gorge (or wadi) that the village of Misfat Al Abriyeen is overlooking."

Our recent hike opened our eyes that there is more to Misfat al Abriyeen than its seemingly sleepy exterior. Watch out for the full feature coming soon.
