MUSCAT: Leading international hospitality chain Marriott International has signed an agreement with an Omani group to launch its Four Points by Sheraton brand, a midscale select-service marque, in the Sultanate of Oman

The new Four Points by Sheraton Muscat is due to contribute 201 keys to Marriott’s Middle Eastern capacity when it arrives in Q1 2024.

The hotel group is developing the Omani capital site in partnership with Mustafa Sultan Enterprises, with Valor Hospitality Partners appointed as the property’s manager.

Four Points by Sheraton Muscat will offer a centralised location for both business and leisure travellers in the city’s upscale Qurum suburb. The hotel will offer visitors ballroom and conference facilities, leisure and fitness amenities, and multiple food and beverage venues.

Marriott is accelerating its development in Oman with at least three other high end projects in the works: Aloft Muscat, St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort and Courtyard by Marriott Nizwa Resort.

Marriott International’s vice president, development – UAE and Oman, Saahil Lalit, commented: “We are excited to debut the Four Points by Sheraton brand in Oman and further strengthen our relationship with Valor Hospitality and Mustafa Sultan Enterprises. Four Points is one of the fastest growing hospitality brands in the world and we are continuing to see great opportunities to expand the brand’s portfolio across the Middle East.”

Julien Bergue, co-founder and managing partner, Valor Hospitality Middle East and CIS, said: “It gives me great pleasure to announce our first franchise collaboration with Marriott International in the Middle East as we expand our third-party hotel management services in the region. We are honoured to have Mustafa Sultan Enterprises, a trusted and established owner, for our first property in Oman. We are working closely with the ownership and Marriott International on the full renovation plan.”

Shabeer Mustafa Sultan, chairman of Mustafa Sultan Enterprises, added: “We are thrilled to work with Valor Hospitality and Marriott International to bring the Four Points by Sheraton brand to Oman. This collaboration points to a full renovation and rebranding investment that supports our mission to create long-term value for the tourism, real estate and leisure sectors across Oman. It also supports the vision of Oman’s leaders, particularly in the upscale hotel segment.”
