RHRC to hold 20 horse races in new season

The Royal Court Affairs, represented by the Royal Horse Racing Club (RHRC), announced the programme of horse racing for 2022-23 season on Wednesday.


The season will see 20 races at the Al Rahba track in Barka, North Al Batinah Governorate.


The events include the National Day races, the Omani derby and the final race.


The horse racing season will start on October 15 with the first race, the second race will be held on October 21, the third race will be going off on October 28.


In November, there will be three races. The fourth race will be on November 5, the fifth race ‘National Day Race’ will be on November 12 and the sixth race will be held on November 19.


In December, four races are scheduled with the seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th races happening on December 1, 8, 16 and 24 respectively.


In 2023, the RHRC will continue with the remaining 10 races.


In January three races will be organised -- the 11th, 12th and 13th on January 5,19 and 24 respectively.


Also, three races will be held in February.


The 14th, 15th and 16th (Omani Derby) races will be staged on February 3, 9 and 24 respectively.


In March, the last month of the season, four races are scheduled.


The 17th race will be on March 2, the 18th on March 9 and the 19th race will be on March 17.


The racing season for the Royal Horse Racing Club will conclude with the 20th and last race on March 18.
