bp Oman signed on Monday a four-year agreement with TruckOman extending its warehousing and material management contract. The renewal of the contract reinforces bp’s commitment to supporting the sustainable development of Oman’s economy through advancing local business growth and overall economic productivity.

bp Oman president, Yousuf al Ojaili, commented: “The partnership over the past five years has been instrumental in growing TruckOman’s knowledge and experience by thoroughly being integrated in bp’s work process. Encouraging the development of Omani capabilities and supporting the businesses growth and overall economic productivity isn’t only aligned with bp’s aims but with the country’s Vision 2040.” This integration has allowed an accelerated learning curve to support the transformation of TruckOman from a trucking and transportation company, into a full-service logistical company including warehousing and inventory management services.

The contract extension will also allow the continued delivery of bp’s services through adding various supply chain responsibilities such as inventory and stock management to Truckoman – in line with bp’s policies.

The Chairman of the board of TruckOman group commented: “TruckOman is indeed grateful for having the privilege of providing warehouse management services and for all the support it has received throughout the period of this contract. This has enabled TruckOman to provide seamless and efficient services to the satisfaction of bp.” He also added: “TruckOman is also proud to note that 85% of its staff employed on the contract are Omanis compared to 45 per cent at the start of the contract. The staff continue to receive online and offline trainings to develop their capabilities. TruckOman is proud of being the only company in Oman that has 305 staff as shareholders, 272 of whom are Omanis.” The contract was signed by Malik al Hajri, bp’s Middle East senior procurement manager and Chris Fidler, TruckOman’s Chief Executive Officer, as representatives for both companies.
