Hot weather calls for a nice soak in Wadi al Arbeieen

It's a slow season for tourists in Wadi al Arbeieen. Over the last two weekends, there were but a small number of visitors who've made a side trip into what is one of the top 10 scenic wadis in Oman.

The sizzling summer temperature is definitely a challenge for a lot of people. Made difficult by the long trip on usually unpaved roads, it's understandable why many tourists would opt for a cooler climate like those in the mountains or even Salalah.

The great thing about not having a lot of tourists is that you will enjoy nature better. After a few successive showers of rain within the last couple of months, some portions of the wadi changed drastically yet they remained beautiful and inviting.

During our visit, it was the perfect time for the dragonflies that frequented the shallow area of the cool pools. The grass is also greener by the water and the date gardens looked fresher than they usually do.

If you're looking for a place to soak to cool off the summer heat, you can definitely find a spot in Wadi al Arbeeieen. Just make sure to bring a lot of sunscreens.
