Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation signed an agreement with Oman India Fertiliser Company (OMIFCO) and Bahwan Cybertek for the development of a simulation and virtual reality laboratory at Sur Vocational College.

The agreement serves the automobile technology specialisation at the college by providing the latest equipment in the field. It will enable students and trainees to use the lab for modelling purposes within the national innovation system.

The agreement was signed by Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim al Mahrouqiyah, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation; Dr Ahmed bin Said al Marhoobi, CEO of OMIFCO; and Hilal bin Khamis al Mukhaini, Deputy General Manager of Bahwan Cybertek.

Dr Rahma valued the initiative undertaken by OMIFCO and Bahwan Cybertek, noting that it constitutes a major shift forward in automobile technology education in the Sultanate of Oman. — ONA
