Muscat: A father and two children died at Al Sawadi beach on Thursday.

The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) responded to a report about the drowning of a family consisting of five members (father, mother and three children) on Al Sawadi beach in the Wilayat of Barka.

The CDAA’s rescue teams have rescued the mother and a child in good health, while the father and other two kids were found dead after they drowned at the beach.

The initial online report issued by the authority said, “A father and a child were found dead after a family of five members drowned in Al Sawdi. The mother and another child are rescued in good health, while the search for the third child is going on”.

The authority later said the missing child was found dead.

Meanwhile, the CDAA calls on the public to abide by safety guidelines when going to the sea, not to swim in undesignated areas and to monitor their kids to avoid drowning incidents.
