Muscat: With the aim to reduce traffic congestion in vital roads, Dhofar Municipality floated three tenders to develop and expand some vital roads that are experiencing congestion and traffic jams in the Governorate of Dhofar.

According to the municipality, the first project is the construction of Ittin Roundabout Tunnel, which is designed to address the traffic jams on Ittin Street and 18 November Street.

The second project is the dualisation of Sultan Taimur Street, while the third is the dualisation of Al-Farooq Street, taking into account the growing traffic expected on these roads. The two streets should include low-cost lightings.

Meanwhile, these projects come as part of the strategic plans of the Dhofar Municipality to enhance the efficiency of the road network in the governorate.

The implementation of these projects expected to contribute to easing traffic jams and enhancing the mobility in areas witnessing population density and urban development.
