Heavy to medium rains lashed many wilayats of the South Al Batinah Governorate on Sunday. The Wilayat of Al Awabi, which included the villages of Wadi Bani Kharous, the city centre and villages close to the city centre also experienced heavy showers.


The rainfall flooded Wadi Hajar Bani Omar, Al Haimli, Heng, Wadi Bani Hinai, Wadi Al Sahtan, Wadi Bani Ghafir, Al Abyadh, Falaj Bani Khuzair, Wadi Mistal and Al Hammam.


The Wilayat of Al Rustaq in the South Al Batinah Governorate has topped the list of wilayats that witnessed rainfall during the period from July 30 to July 31.


According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, Al Rustaq has recorded 40 mm of rainfall followed by Al Jabal Al Akhdhar in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate with 25 mm and the Wilayat of Dima W’attayeen in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate with 9 mm. The Wilayat of Al Buraimi in the Al Buraimi Governorate received 5 mm of rainfall.
