Relief Sector Keeps Up Efforts in North Al Batinah, Musandam

Madha: Hamoud Mohammed al Mantheri, Coordinator of the Rescue and Relief Sector at the National Committee for Emergency Management, has said that the overflowing of wadis stranded many citizens, GCC visitors and residents who were later shifted to more secure areas by the departments concerned.

Al Mantheri added in a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA) that two relief centres were activated in the Wilayat of Madha and supplied with basic commodities. He said that the centres house 16 GCC visitors and 27 expatriates, all of whom enjoy good health, and that no injuries or deaths were reported.

Meanwhile, Dr Rashid Hamad al Badi, Director of the Health Ministry’s Emergency Management Centre, said, “All health establishments in North Al Batinah are operating smoothly and offering all types of health services. All roads leading to those establishments are open. In case any new centres are opened, they will be supplied with necessary health services and medical staff or supported by health establishments in their vicinity.”
