Muscat: Officials at the medical response sector have affirmed the sector’s preparedness to handle public health incidents that might occur as a result of the low pressure which is due to make landfall in the Sultanate of Oman tomorrow and the day after (Tuesday, July 26, Wednesday, July 27).

An action plan is in place to ensure the continuous operation of health establishments to address the situation in the impacted areas.

Dr Rashid Hamad al Badi, Director of the Emergency Cases Centre, told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the medical response sector instructed the health establishments in governorates concerned to keep their staff and equipment ready for the prompt handling of emergency cases.

The medical response sector also cautioned the respective health establishments against the probable occurrence of power cuts, disconnection of water supplies or chances that rainwater might gush or leak indoors.

The establishments were directed to activate the vaccination plan and be prepared to transfer patients whenever deemed necessary.
