Muscat: Five people died and 14 others sustained moderate to serious injuries, as a bus carrying 19 passengers crashed in Al Jabal al-Sharqi in the Wilayat al Hamra, according to Royal Oman Police (ROP).
According to the local sources, the bus was carrying children from an orphanage for a trip to the mountains of Al Jabal al-Sharqi.
According to the Royal Oman Police said, "The bus belonged to the Child Care Center in the Wilayat of Seeb, and the injured were taken to Nizwa and Bahla hospitals. The Police Aviation transported two seriously injured people to Khawla Hospital in Muscat Governorate."
"With great sadness and great sadness, the Ministry of Social Development received the news of a traffic accident that took place in the Wilayat of Al Hamra, involving hostel employees and the children of the childcare. The Ministry is closely following up with the concerned authorities on the details of the accident, hoping for a speedy recovery of the injured."
