MUSCAT: A user-friendly new website has been launched by Al Mouj Golf in Muscat showcasing the club’s award-winning attributes, helping to position both it and Oman on the global stage as a world-class golfing, leisure and tourism destination.

The digitally sophisticated site almoujgolf.com incorporates stunning photography of the course, Al Mouj Muscat and the Oman coastline, alongside useful and intuitive interactive features that make playing, dining and visiting the club simple and straightforward.

Al Mouj Golf was the Sultanate’s first PGA course, is consistently placed in the top two courses in the Middle East and is also ranked in the Top 100 courses in the world.

Since opening in 2011, the Greg Norman designed par-72 has hosted the Oman Open on three occasions, earning itself a reputation as an exemplary oceanfront championship course and winning accolades for its positive impact on the natural environment.

The new site has been launched at a time when the club is building on its successes through a number of physical upgrades and developments including a new club house that, over the next two years, will elevate both the playing experience and its international status further.

For now, in addition to providing a comprehensive overview plus news, up-to-date menus and information on alternative leisure pursuits, the site is enhancing the day-to-day experiences of members and visitors alike. Useful online features include booking a tee time, becoming a member and reserving a table at the restaurant. It is also possible to have real-time conversations with club management on WhatsApp, all of which combine to make connecting with the club easier.

A unique feature is a bird’s eye view style plan which gives golfers who are yet to experience the course a realistic viewpoint as, in addition to images and descriptions alongside each hole, there are pro tips on how best to approach them.

Nasser al Sheibani, CEO of Al Mouj Muscat, said: “The total economic impact per annum of golf travel to Oman has the potential to grow and by investing in world-class digital experiences, not only showcases Al Mouj Golf in all its award-winning glory but also is helping to promote the Sultanate as a golf destination with global appeal.

“What Al Mouj Golf has achieved in 10 years has been exemplary both from a golfing perspective and the wider environmental, community and economic benefits it has brought to our country particularly the sports tourism sector.

"As well as our new site being a fitting showcase, it is a superb demonstration of how through digital solutions excellence, Al Mouj Muscat is lifting the customer experience even further. It really is a celebration of modern Oman at its finest.”

Al Mouj Golf is Oman’s first links style course offering amateurs and professionals a challenging, yet rewarding game of golf. Along a two-kilometer stretch of pristine coastline, flanking the Indian Ocean and with the stunning Hajar mountain range in the background, the lush green course is accented with bunkers, water hazards and natural dunes.
