MUSCAT: With their participation in this year’s AIPC Annual Conference July 4-6 in Budapest, Hungary, Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC) is taking another step ahead in enhancing their capacity as a premium events venue in Oman providing world-class experiences.
The International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC) – of which OCEC is a member – is committed to encouraging and recognizing excellence in convention centre management, and to providing the research, education and networking resources to achieve high standards in the industry.
The 2022 Conference took place under the theme “Reshaping the Future”, and will serve as a platform to exchange knowledge and expertise on the latest trends in venue operation and management. The event will also shed light on future-generation leadership and ways to develop the industry with youth talents.
In addition, with the OCEC's Events Manager, Saba al Azki participating in the 2022 AIPC Conference as a member of the Future Shapers program, the OCEC is furthering their goal to empower young Omani professionals through international learning and development opportunities.
The Future Shapers program supports the development of high performers to think and act like leaders. The program participants are predominately senior managers within the AIPC community who are seeking additional learning opportunities with practical outcomes.
As part of the Future Shapers membership requirements, each participant has to complete a number of learning and development sessions with topics such as “Becoming a Leader”, “Leadership and Your Personal Journey”, and “Towards a Sustainable Future”.
Commenting on Al Azki’s Future Shapers participation at the 2022 AIPC Annual Conference, Eng Said al Shanfari, Chief Executive Officer – OCEC, said: “Our participation at this globally renowned conference forms part of OCEC’s commitment to empowering young Omani professionals with the skills, training and international experience required to make a meaningful difference in the event management industry, and related sectors in Oman. OCEC is honoured to provide opportunities for our younger generation – who are our future events industry leaders – to engage in programs such as the UFI Certified Professional and UFI Exhibition Management Degree, as well as this latest Future Shapers program, which is an excellent initiative.”
